Does Your Little One Have Enough Baby Teeth?
Your baby should have 20 baby teeth. While they come in at
different times they should have roughly the same amount come in on top and on
the bottom around the same time. Usually their baby teeth begin to come in at
six months. After their two front teeth come in, then quickly the other 4 front
teeth follow and then the bottom teeth begin to fill in. Sometimes, the bottom
teeth do not come in at the same time or they may have more teeth on the top
than on the bottom.
If you have concerns about whether your child’s baby teeth
are coming in correctly, schedule a routine checkup with your pediatric dentist,
Dr. Cameron Fuller and his team in order for them to evaluate and ensure there
is not a bigger problem with your child’s baby teeth.
Their full set of teeth should be in around the age of 2 ½
or 3, but all children are a little different and it may take a little longer. Baby
teeth also tend to be smaller and whiter than adult teeth, but take note, they
are just as important as their permanent teeth.
