Three Ways To Prevent My Child From Disliking The Dentist?
The dentist should not be the place you take your kids only
when they are in pain or having trouble with their teeth. It is really
important to develop a positive relationship with the dentist prior to any
problems.

2.
Have them seen often; developing a healthy relationship of trust so that when
treatment needs are necessary, they do not have anxiety. While you are
developing the relationship between the dentist and your child, visit on a
regular basis. Dr. Fuller states, "they should start by seeing the dentist every six months, more
often if they have significant decay, or are receiving orthodontic care."
3.
Talk to them about the dentist prior to the visit. If they are younger and have
not visited the dentist yet, read a story about the dentist. Show them pictures
and allow them to ask any questions they have about visiting. If they have
visited the dentist, tell them what they are going for. If they are going to
have a regular cleaning or x-rays, share with them what they can expect.
Now I will know how it is that I can prevent my own child from disliking the dentist. This is going to be really helpful, because then I will not have to worry about ever taking him to the dentist and it being a huge struggle to do so. Going to try these three ways so my son will actually not mind going to the dentist.
